Touch Fish privacy policy

Last updated: 1 October 2026

This policy applies to the Touch Fish Chrome extension published by CubicleZoo. It does not describe Snake King or other CubicleZoo products.

Data handled by the extension

Touch Fish uses temporary access to the current tab only when you invoke it from the toolbar or a shortcut to show its floating game window. It reads the current site's origin as a key for local game saves. It does not read or upload page content or record browsing history.

Your Chrome profile stores language and display preferences, window position, per-site game progress, completed challenges and best move counts, puzzle caches, and selected puzzle-source settings in chrome.storage.local. There is no CubicleZoo account, advertising, or analytics. Ordinary local game data is not uploaded to CubicleZoo.

External puzzle sources

Chess endgame challenges request puzzle data from Lichess, including a request by puzzle ID when you replay a completed puzzle. Xiangqi endgame challenges request puzzle-pack data from GitHub. These requests do not send page content, game progress, or challenge completion records. Providers may process ordinary network request data, such as your IP address, under their own policies.

Sudoku uses local puzzles by default. The extension requests or tests puzzles from an external Sudoku provider only after you select that source in Options and grant Chrome's site permission. It does not send your Sudoku answers to the provider. If you configure source credentials, they stay in local storage and are used only for requests to your selected provider; query-parameter credentials may appear in that provider's request logs. The currently offered Dosuku source needs no credentials.

Optional online Xiangqi

The online backend is not yet formally deployed in this Beta. If you later configure and use it and grant access to the Supabase origin, the extension creates an anonymous identity with a Supabase project used by CubicleZoo. It sends the room code, anonymous participant IDs, moves, and game state to provide a match and prevent duplicate submissions. Anonymous authentication tokens, the room code, and a public client configuration key are stored locally. Online play does not send page URLs, page content, or Sudoku answers.

Rooms are set to expire seven days after creation. Expired-room cleanup is triggered by server operations and may not happen at the exact expiration time. Uninstalling the extension does not automatically delete online data already sent to Supabase.

External links and payments

Options includes a link to the CubicleZoo extensions site and an optional Stripe support link. They open an external site in a new tab only when clicked. Touch Fish does not collect, store, or process payment details. The destination site handles any data you provide there under its own policy. Supporting CubicleZoo does not unlock or change game features.

Retention, deletion, and contact

You can remove selected puzzle sources or reset window position in Options; replaying or starting a new game updates the relevant game save. Uninstalling the extension clears its local browser-profile data, but does not erase requests retained by external services or online match data. For privacy or online-data questions, contact the publisher through the CubicleZoo website. We will update this policy and the Chrome Web Store disclosures if data practices change.
